JUNE

Sunrise Engagement to Sunset Wedding Elopement

Emily & Alex

With a love story that spans 9.5 years, Alex and Emily’s journey began during their freshman year at the University of Cincinnati. Fate brought them together on a memorable night out with friends, only to discover that they lived just one floor apart in the same dorm. What started as a friendship blossomed into a deep connection, and their love story officially began the following school year. Last year, on a remarkable trip to California, they solidified their commitment to each other amidst the stunning landscapes of Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and Sequoia. As the sun rose over the serene Lake Tahoe during a hike, Alex proposed to Emily, setting the stage for their next adventure together.

This adventurous duo shares a profound passion for hiking, travel, and camping, making the great outdoors their happy place. They are self-proclaimed foodies who revel in culinary explorations and enjoy experimenting with new recipes. Alex’s interests include snowboarding and video games, while Emily finds solace in the worlds of reading and art, particularly painting. Asheville, North Carolina, holds a special place in their hearts, as Alex once interned with GE Aviation in the city, and Emily frequently joined him, allowing them to explore the vibrant city and the surrounding natural beauty. Their decision to elope at Black Balsam was driven by the breathtaking views, especially during sunset, and their unwavering love for hiking. Above all, they are excited to embark on this new chapter, marrying their best friend and adventure partner.

JULY

Pink Sunsets & True Love

Blair & Joseph

Joseph (JT) and Blair had a classic beautiful mountain elopement.

Together for 3 years, this pair has known each other for what seems like forever!

Blair shared “We’ve known each other for so long, that it is hard to pinpoint where and how we met.  We went to the same elementary, middle, and high school in Herndon, VA.  We reconnected as adults over our shared interests in exploring DC and outdoor adventures.  Our first date was paddleboarding the monuments, and several months / dates later, we found ourselves on a week long camping trip! The dog loved it! He chased off a bear for us! “

Their engagement story is pretty funny and sweet!

JT sprung a random week night dinner date on Blair to BRX restaurant in Great Falls. JT and Blair had been there only once before after a sweaty, summer hike, which was quite memorable due to how nice of an establishment BRX is, which the couple was of course unaware of. The second time around, Blair had barely sat down when JT got down on one knee and proposed. The owner of the restaurant came by with champagne in congratulations and commented on how he remembered the sweaty underdressed couple in his restaurant a few years earlier.

Fast forward to their Asheville elopement, the couple chose to elope here because both love the mountains and the vibe of the city. Their July day was a pretty magical one. With their photographer Amy to capture the memories, Michael officiating, and Erin along as an assistant, they hiked up through a gorgeous woods to find themselves eventually witnessing the perfect sunset after saying “I do!”

AUGUST

Chasing Waterfalls

Shandy & Josh

Shandy and Josh tied the knot in August, surrounded by the natural beauty of a waterfall in the Pisgah Forest, a place that held a special meaning for them.

Shandy and Josh’s love story is deeply intertwined with their shared passion for the outdoors.  The Asheville area holds a special place in their journey, as it is where they embarked on their first getaway to the enchanting Biltmore Estate. Over time, they returned with their daughters, creating cherished family memories in this scenic destination. Their love for the serene landscapes of Brevard, discovered during a trip last November, solidified their connection to the great outdoors.

Hiking, camping, exploring, and traveling are the cornerstones of their relationship. It was on top of the Endless Wall, amidst the breathtaking beauty of New River Gorge, that Josh proposed to Shandy during a hiking and camping excursion with their daughters. The proposal was a moment of pure magic, shared intimately with their children who captured the entire event on film.

For Shandy and Josh, eloping in the heart of nature was the ultimate expression of their love and commitment, a moment where they would see each other for the first time as they became husband and wife. It was a day that neither of them will ever forget, a testament to their shared love for the outdoors and each other.
