How they met: “Brian and I met in 2007 when we both worked for the same employer, a dialysis provider. He visited my clinic every so often on a consultative basis, so I didn’t see him regularly. Brian says he tried to get my attention for some time, but I didn’t give him the time of day, which is likely true. I noticed him in passing, but I just got out of a serious relationship and wasn’t looking for a new partner. One day, when Brian walked into my office at work, we got to talking about our alma mater–it turns out we were both UNC CH grads. The more Brian spoke, the more it dawned on me that we seemed to have been linked in interesting ways, but didn’t know each other then.
