Outdoor Lovers Elopement | Erin & Clarke
Erin & Clarke met at work when Clarke went to California for a work trip. He was living in Colorado at the time but they found out that they grew up only 20 miles apart in Michigan. What a small world! It’s crazy how things like this seem to work. They were working for an outdoor gear company, and are both avid runners and outdoor lovers. So, naturally, they chose a company like us to have their outdoor Asheville elopement with! They had a beautiful ceremony at the Black Balsam, surrounded by mountain and trees. Clarke’s sister and her husband were there to watch and celebrate Clarke and Erin saying “I do.” Julie, their officiant, was all smiles and made sure to keep everyone laughing.
About this sweet couple
Erin says, “We made North Carolina our home recently. We live in Raleigh but love the mountains and want our home to eventually be close to a mountain range.” Erin has always loved Asheville and has taken Clarke here multiple times in the past year. Their families are both in Michigan, but as a couple, they have spent very little time there. They said that they decided to do an elopement in their new home state but that they’ll throw a party with their families later in the year to celebrate.
Erin and Clarke enjoyed places like Sierra Nevada while on their trip to North Carolina. They were going to be heading there after the wedding for one last hurrah together before Clarke’s sister & her husband flew back home. It was really special for Clarke and Erin to have Clarke’s sister and her husband there to take part in their special day.
Erin and Clarke were so much fun to work with and photograph. They even brought a bottle of champagne to toast with after their ceremony. Their sweet and silly nature really shines through in the images that we captured as their Asheville elopement photographers. My favorite images are their portrait images just the two of them.
Thanks to both of you for having me photograph your Asheville elopement!
