Wow, we’ve had some gorgeous days this spring—and so many lovely couples! We love “true” elopements (they’re our favorites!), and we have had quite a few in the last couple months. We are in photographer’s heaven!
Alexandra and Eli met on Instagram! Their love story was so intriguing and fun to hear:
“We met in Charleston during Eli’s three-year work assignment there thanks to a mysterious Instagram algorithm! He initially showed up in my ‘Suggested friends’ on Instagram. I thought his profile looked interesting and started following him. I guess he thought the same thing, so we started talking, met in person, and here we are!”
They are one of the most complementary couples we’ve ever met: “We enjoy exploring new places and do as much traveling as possible! Just in 2018 I’ve visited four completely different parts of Mexico, and Eli has gone to Russia with me in the winter. I’m originally from Russia, so Eli went with me to meet my family! Eli also loves going to the gym and I enjoy taking dance classes.”
For the proposal, Eli set up a romantic private helicopter ride over Charleston and proposed in the air! (That would have been a fun one to photograph—I can’t say I’ve ever done that.) If that thrilling proposal is any indication of how their marriage will be, they are in for many years of fun and adventure together. We are so excited for them!
When we asked why they picked Asheville, they responded, “Because we love mountains and waterfalls. Also, I bartend at wedding and events on weekends as my side job, so getting married in Charleston doesn’t seem that exciting—it would almost feel like another work shift. We would like to get married somewhere with a mountain view!”
And a mountain view they got! Hope you enjoy these photos from their stunning elopement on Black Balsam as much as we do!
