Springtime Asheville Elopement at the Historic Sherrill’s Inn

Sherrill’s Inn a truly a special place in the Blue Ridge Mountains. “The Inn  is a registered historic place established in 1801, with the main inn being built in 1845. Throughout its 200 year history, this property has served as a getaway for people looking for crisp air and beautiful views. Sherrill’s Inn is a special, historic place where people have been gathering for over two centuries.”  We love that in this modern day, we can host elopements at this amazing venue!

Grace & Keith saw the beauty of this place and chose to have their elopement here in April 2021.  This was their third attempt at planning a wedding amongst the Corona virus craziness. Grace says, “Coronavirus is the main reason why we decided to elope in Asheville. We planned a big wedding, but decided it wasn’t safe and thought Asheville would be an easier option for us. We thought about getting married outside, but Keith is a big planner and didn’t like the idea that we might not have a backup option if it rains; so we picked The Old Sherrill’s Inn because we have several different options for a ceremony spot. We also loved that this old historic building has tons of charm and character!”

It was great we had the beautiful arch as a backup, because it did indeed start sprinkling during the beginning of the ceremony!  Grace & Keith looked at each other, took a nod toward the porch, and we quickly and easily relocated and resumed the ceremony with ease a a few chuckles.  This is just one more reason eloping is SO AWESOME! With just the two of them, it was that east to change locations during the ceremony. How great is that!?
