Carolina Outdoor Elopement Photographer | Tara and Dawson

Tara and Dawson are such a wonderful couple! It doesn’t take long to realized that these two are madly in love. I am so honored that they chose me to document their elopement for them. I first met Tara and Dawson when they decided to plan their elopement with us at Elope Outdoors. Immediately, I was drawn to their care-free and fun attitudes, and I knew their wedding was going to reflect their adventurous spirits. They are such kind people, and I am so happy that they found each other!

Rainy Mountaintop Elopement

Elopements are so intimate and special, allowing for the bride and groom to celebrate one another without the stress of a big wedding. Tara and Dawson decided to invite some close friends and family to witness the ceremony. I loved seeing their support system! Their loved ones were up for the challenge of hiking to the breathtaking mountain top to be part of their special day.

The elopement took place at Bald Rock Heritage Preserve above the foothills of the Appalachian mountains in South Carolina. Our day started with a “first look” under the canopy of the forest in the rain. The rain added such a beautiful tone to the elopement as the two read their vows to each other. Such a romantic experience for them! All of us were teary eyed as they read their beautifully written words to each other.

The rain subsided as the ceremony began, and a cool mist set in. It was gorgeous being right in the middle of the clouds and fog, so romantic and whimsical. We were cold and wet but it did not hinder the mood of the day in the slightest. These might just be some of my favorite photos captured in my time as a photographer! The sun started popping out at the end, and we were able to see a bit of the view. We love outdoor elopements and the excitement that comes when the rain doesn’t stop adventurous lovers! Congratulations to Tara and Dawson! I wish them many more happy memories in the future!
