Katie and Mike are a perfect example of a picture perfect elopement. Katie, from a family of six and the last of four sisters to get married, had her parents full support for hers and Mike’s mountaintop wedding. The two plan to have a small party/reception with friends and family once they have settled into married life. She never wanted a big wedding and wanted to keep the focus on their love for one another. She wanted to avoid the stress that often comes with planning a big wedding. The couple was married at Black Balsam off Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, North Carolina. The only onlookers were parents and Mike’s two boys, Brady and Luke. Families of both the bride and groom were happy they were doing their wedding “their way”.
A Beautiful Day, Done Their Way
Although they eloped they did keep a lot of the traditional wedding customs. Who says a girl cannot be walked down the ‘aisle’ by her daddy on her wedding day if she elopes? Katie’s Dad gave his last little girl away on her big day and they both beamed with excitement for her in the process.
Katie was a stunning bride and she and her groom make quite the handsome couple. When asked what she is most looking forward to the bride responded, “spending my life with Mike, Brady and Luke”. The images of the mixed family of four were gorgeous. The day was perfect for the outdoor occasion and the lighting was a photographer’s dream. These two were the sweetest and most gracious couple and a true joy to work with for their Black Balsam Mountain Elopement.
How stunning are these two!? They truly are a gorgeous family. I simply adored being their Black Balsam Mountain Elopement photographer!
