Asheville Mountain Elopement Photographer | Rain and Romance

For those of you new to my blog, I wanted to share with you the reasoning of my love for elopement photography. So often, brides and grooms get lost in the hustle and bustle of wedding planning. The focus of their big day begins to revolve around the guest list, catering schedule, floral arrangements and more. The reason that really brings two people together is the love that they share and excitement for their future together, but it often gets put on the back burner.

You’ve all seen the TV shows of ridiculous expectations and ruined precious memories. A wedding does not need to mean an expensive and dramatic affair. For that reason, I adore capturing elopement photography. It’s just two hearts, sometimes joined by close family and friends, sometimes on their own, coming together and celebrating the start of their beautiful journey together. Such was the case with Cat and Adam.

Like the Rain, I’ve Fallen For You

On their wedding day at Black Balsam, mystical weather and moody fog cultivated an air of dreamy romance for their big day. I’ve always heard that it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day, which is definitely true for these two lovebirds. Even though mother nature threw them a few curveballs, these two were so cool with it and just happy to be committing to each other. That’s exactly why we love elopements! Especially when it’s just the couple, we really get to know them and we have more time to photograph them just being purely in love and in the moment.
