What a couple! Karla and David met traveling in Mexico and found love at first sight. Since their first meeting, their relationship has deepened and their love has grown even stronger. To complement their organic, authentic love story and their mutual love for adventure and travel, they wanted a getaway wedding. There’s no place more majestic than the mountains. So, they chose to come to Asheville and elope with us on a mountain top!

For their ceremony, we hiked a little way up Craggy Mountain with only a few of their closest family members. It was a very special and emotional ceremony. Julia is always amazing with her moving words and relating to the couple she is marrying. She really knows how to create a sacred space for two lovers in their commitment, and I always love capturing the raw emotions of that moment.

After they exchanged vows, we hiked up to Craggy Pinnacle for some amazing mountain photos with just the newlyweds. They brought a really cool southwestern-designed blanket that they cuddled up with as they looked out to the mountain. I really love the photo of the blanket blowing behind them in the breeze as they gaze out into the horizon – one of those once-in-a-lifetime kinds of photos.

The views were as clear as I’ve ever seen them on this sunny afternoon. If there were a heaven on earth, this would be it! It was close to the full moon, the “flower moon,” and we got to have it in some of the ceremony and mountain shots – very cool and rare! Even better, the moon is very special/symbolic to them, so they were pleasantly surprised that it was in the perfect spot for the ceremony!

We had an amazing time working with this couple, and we just love outdoor elopements. Congratulations to this happy couple – here’s to many more years of adventure!
