Sarahkate & Stephen’s Great Smoky Mountains elopement was EPIC! It was just the two of them and their daughters experiencing this incredible, natural spot in the summer of 2022. 

They chose Cataloochee Valley, a peaceful mountain valley nested among the Great Smoky Mountains. The cool thing about this spot is that you just might run into a herd of elk here, but don’t worry just keep your distance and you will be safe!

 

The Couple

Sarahkate and Stephen were together for two years before Stephen casually popped the question in conversation one day.

That sounds so smooth and natural of a way to do it, right?

Sarahkate loves to spend time with her kids, watch movies, get massages and her hair done,  dance and sing.
Steve also really loves spending time with the kids as well as whittling, painting, and make things out of wood.

They got to combine a few of their favorite things to do in their elopement day, as well as their passion for the outdoors.

Sarahkate said “We wanted to have a private ceremony. We like being outdoors and being around nature and the serenity that that brings. We have both been to Asheville before and it seems as if it would be a serene place to tie the knot.”

Their Great Smoky mountains elopement was truly the perfect spot for serenity and privacy!

 

Their Daughters

Sarahkate and Stephen decided to bring their 5 and 6 year old daughters to be the flower girls.

They brought that wide-eyed innocent witnessing to the day and really made the moment a special family experience.

 

The Team

Arriving at the meeting spot, we got to meet this awesome family in real life, after chatting with them via email leading up to it!

Our team consisting of officiant Jay, photographer Jenny, and day-of assistant Kara who also doubled as babysitter.

 As a photography-focused elopement company, we strive for a unique, unplugged and down-to-earth experience. We capture every special moment so our couples and guests can commit to being fully present (and cell phone free!).

It was a dream for our team to make this happen for this amazing couple and sweet family!
