This Bearwallow Mountain elopement was about more than exchanging vows, it was about bringing two families together. After five years together, Natalie and Charles traveled from Tallahassee, Florida to the Blue Ridge Mountains with their three children for an intimate wedding day filled with mountain views, laughter, bubbles, and an unforgettable sunset.

As lovers of camping, hiking, freshwater springs, travel, and the outdoors, getting married surrounded by mountain views felt like the perfect fit. They were excited to experience Asheville for the first time and loved the idea of a location with sweeping 360-degree views, beautiful hiking trails, and a fun downtown atmosphere to enjoy afterward.

On a beautiful spring evening, we gathered near a rocky overlook at Bearwallow Mountain for their ceremony. The mountain views stretched for miles in every direction, while the sun filtered through the clouds behind them, creating a magical glow that seemed to surround the entire ceremony.
With their three children standing nearby, Natalie and Charles exchanged vows and officially became one family. It was a heartfelt moment made even sweeter by the excitement of the kids, who were clearly thrilled to be part of the celebration.
One of our favorite moments happened at the end of the ceremony when it was time for the first kiss. Armed with a bubble gun, one of the kids filled the air with bubbles as everyone cheered. The bubbles floating through the mountain air created such a joyful and playful ending to the ceremony.

Afterward, we spent some time capturing family portraits around the overlook. From walking together along the trail to standing side-by-side taking in the mountain views, it was easy to see how much this day meant to all of them.
These family photos are always some of our favorites because they capture more than just a wedding day, they tell the story of a family beginning a new chapter together.

Once the family photos were complete, the kids took a little break and Natalie and Charles enjoyed some time alone together for their couple portraits.
The energy immediately shifted into pure fun.
Charles had brought along a speaker clipped right onto his belt loop, and before long music was filling the mountaintop. They danced together, laughed nonstop, and completely relaxed into the moment.
To make things even more playful, our assistant Kalie joined in by sending bubbles floating through the air while they danced. Between the music, the laughter, and the incredible mountain backdrop, it felt less like a photo session and more like two people simply enjoying one of the happiest evenings of their lives.
As the sun dropped lower, Bearwallow delivered an absolutely spectacular sunset. The sky lit up with color while Natalie and Charles ran hand-in-hand across the mountaintop, laughing, dancing, and soaking in every last moment of their wedding day.

Natalie and Charles’ wedding day is a perfect reminder that elopements aren’t just for two. Including children can make the experience even more meaningful, allowing everyone to share in the adventure and celebrate the start of a new chapter together.
From a mountain-top ceremony to bubbles, music, dancing, and an unforgettable sunset, their Bearwallow Mountain elopement was filled with everything that matters most: love, family, and the freedom to celebrate in a way that felt completely their own.
