Behind every photo shared on our Instagram to the films that capture the elopement experience, is a dynamic team of videographers, photographers, officiants, florists and more. From our Coordinator to our Cake-Maker, to our day-of elopement assistant, Elope Outdoors is a team of individual artists who have come together in a shared passion for the mountains and the lovers who find themselves being wed upon them!

1. Nature is the backdrop

So many couples have noted that we have the best jobs in the world and we can’t argue with that!

Whether on a mountain or by a river, or even at someone’s home, getting to work with excited couples outside in some of the coolest places is an extraordinary thing we don’t take for granted.

Amy, one of our photographers shared: “I can’t believe that my job involves meeting cool people at an epic time in their lives, hiking up mountains, watching breathtaking sunsets, finding all the best spots for photos, and generally having a blast!”

Videographer Jenny says: “I have fallen in love with elopements of all shapes and forms. Eloping means you can get married at so many different locations and get beyond beautiful images. We have had couples get married on their farm, at a cozy house, a historic inn, alongside a waterfall, and on a variety of mountaintops. The possibilities are endless and much of what is not available at a traditional wedding venue.”

2. Teamwork makes the Dreamwork

One of the coolest things about eloping with Elope Outdoors is that the team has established relationships with each other and you can feel that sense of camaraderie. That creates a really positive dynamic on your elopement day.

Julia, one of our officiants, loves this aspect of being on the EO team: “It is clear that all the people who make up the structure of this small business are in it because they truly love what they do. You are sure to be in amazing hands when it comes to this incredible team of open, loving, and genuine individuals.”

Videographer Jenny shared: “It’s not uncommon for us all to be chatting away on the trail up to the mountains. We are catching up and sharing stories in between talking and getting to know the couple. I like that we make time for each other since most of the experience is spent on engaging with the couple, who is our 100% top priority of the day.”

3. The integrity and vibe that begins with our owner & extends to each collaborator

When you meet EO Owner Meghan, you notice that she is not only a talented photographer and visionary, she mixes a laid-back vibe with a strong work ethic and commitment to making every eloping experience a stand-out one. The way she runs her business with integrity lends itself to the type of creators and artists that she is drawn to working with. It really trickles down and continues to encourage each member of the team to be themselves and to embody those values because they matter to Meghan herself.

Videographer Bryan and his partner Jenny got involved with EO after meeting Meghan in 2016 when she was assembling the team and shared: “The reason we started working with Meghan is because she had a really welcoming vibe and handled our interactions with great care and respect. Jenny and I both felt valued as creators and have been given the space from Day 1 to do what we do. She knows how to communicate suggestions without taking away from the freedom of our creative process.”

Florist Niki agrees: “I absolutely LOVE working with Elope Outdoors! The team is so organized, detail-oriented and caring – I feel incredibly lucky to be their florist partner. They strike a perfect balance of communicating the desires of the clients with letting us have creative freedom to design something totally unique and seasonally inspired for each couple.”

Officiant Julia shared “Working with Elope Outdoors fills my days with so much joy. It’s a strong value of mine to work with, and alongside, others who hold similar values to myself. Elope Outdoors and their whole crew lead with integrity, compassion, and care, and every elopement is given the utmost attention. Couples often say that they feel like they’ve known us all forever, and that is something that everyone takes pride in.”

4. The couples we get to work with are amazing!

It takes a certain type of person to be up for ditching the typical wedding formalities to do something a bit unexpected! That is why the couples who are attracted to elopements are nothing less than awesome.

Videographer Jenny shared “We’ve had some really fun and charismatic couples that I have enjoyed getting to know. The couples we work with tend to be the nicest people and many come with special touches in their day. We’ve had barefoot brides, dogs carrying the rings on their collar up to Black Balsam, and everything from hand-fasting ceremonies to a Power Rangers cake topper – and I am HERE for it all and love to capture it.”

Eloping pays off too. Here, the couple can fully relax in their photo session and ceremony – no distractions. They are less traditional often and we see couples getting married with a few friends, dogs are more than welcome, and nature is the only decor you need.

One of the reasons we get such great couples is that our owner and coordinator Cassie guide everyone leading up to the day so that they can be fully present and be their best selves.
