Mystical Moody Elopement | Xuan & Chad

Xuan and Chad are from Gastonia, NC, not too far away. This lovely couple has been together for seven wonderful years. After Chad proposed to Xuan last Thanksgiving in front of their family and friends, everyone is happy they are finally getting married!

They chose Asheville because it is beautiful and close to home! They were looking for an intimate yet adventurous experience, so we headed up to the picturesque Wiseman’s View in Linville Gorge for their elopement. Xuan brought along a gorgeous bridal bouquet that she crafter herself. I really love her long sheer bridal wrap that she chose as an alternative to a veil. It flowed elegantly over her shoulders and looked stunning on her.

We had a quite cloudy day, but the photos turned out amazing, almost ethereal. It was beautiful to watch the clouds moving around them during the ceremony, it was literally quite moving! It was actually a pretty calm day, and the looming fog meant fewer visitors, so we had the whole space to ourselves! The ceremony was so intimate and romantic. Julia officiated their ceremony, and like always, her bright personality evoked lots of laughs and heartfelt vows. They have the sweetest relationship, and I loved capturing some candid photos that represented their personality a little.

These two were laid back and totally ok with the interesting weather. I assured them they would love the photos and they would be unique! I don’t know many, if any, couples who have photos like these with the fog pushing through the trees. The contrasting white clouds really made the rich earthy tones of the reddish-brown bark and emerald leaves pop. Paired with Xuan’s extraordinary long, white-lace gown and Chad’s dark suit, these images are captivating. I would love to have something like that hanging about my fireplace. It would certainly spark many conversations about their special elopement story. Congratulations, Xuan and Chad!
