A gorgeous snowy day on the mountain! It was COLD but OH so beautiful. Don’t let those bright blue sunny skies fool you—the cold was pretty intense. But Shanda and Brad were troopers, and I think it was so worth it. These photos are just mesmerizing. I would want to blow all of them up and hang them on my walls. The photos are just so unique, full of color and romance. I love the soft blue, gray, and purple layers of the mountains in the background. The pines looked so ethereal with their branches softly dusted with powder-white snow.
They both looked phenomenal and dressed the part (both for the chill and for a wedding). Shanda looked gorgeous in her fur coat! Her brown leather boots looked so cute peeking out beneath the flowing tulle of her ballgown. And his blue suit looked so sharp and complemented the natural colors around him. Love it!
I wish I had more photos of her pretty bouquet, but we lost it! It was quite windy up there (check out those pictures of the horizontal icicles on the plants!). Shanda placed her bouquet down during the ring exchange, and we realized a bit later we couldn’t find it! We don’t know exactly what happened, but we figured it must have blown away.
What inspires a snowy elopement such as this? Shanda and Brad are from Nashville, TN, and they knew they wanted to get married in the mountains on their first trip to Asheville. I asked Shanda what she looked forward to most on her wedding day, and she said, “Becoming husband and wife. It is a moment that we will know that God can redeem broken things – going from being divorced and feeling like we failed to something so incredibly special by marrying someone else.”
And I’ll leave it at that. How beautifully stated.
