Jenny & Freddie // Fall Elopement at Blue Ridge Mountain House

Officiant: Julia
Photographer: Amy
Proposal: Planned their engagement together at the Historic Oakland Cemetery
Together: 2.5 yrs

Bride throws up bouquet to celebrate walking alongside groom

Jenny & Freddie kicked off their elopement by walking into their ceremony holding hands and getting a great response from their small but resounding crowd.

When you hear their engagement story, you might want to clap too!

The couple planned their engagement together, both picking out vintage rings and planning a special day at their favorite place in Atlanta, the Historic Oakland Cemetery. Sitting next to a gravestone marked “Love” they shared the reasons they wished to spend their lives together, exchanging rings after Freddie recited a heartfelt poem by Pablo Neruda.

Afterward, they shared a picnic on a special hand-sewn quilt (a gift from Jenny to Freddie several years ago), and went on a 9-mile urban hike through Atlanta, reliving their first and favorite moments together.

You may wonder how they topped that? But top it they did!

Their elopement – which was originally supposed to be held at Max Patch –  was held at the most epic mountaintop home! It was a day full of laughter and fun, and real, genuine and silly moments that reflected who they are and the relationship they have built.

Seriously, these two look like they could have fun anywhere, including this dreamy cabin!

The ceremony, officiated by Julia, took place on the lawn with mountain ridges in all directions.

What a time to be alive!

Christine & Brittany // Spring Elopement at Lake-house in the forest

Officiant: Michael
Photographer: Maddie
Videographer: Wildwood Media
Proposal: Niagara Falls

Ladies dance on dock lLGBT Wedding elopement

Christine knew she was going to marry Brittany the day she met her in January. In April, Christine purchased the ring, just waiting for the right moment to ask her. In May, the couple visited the Canadian side of Niagara Falls where Christine proposed to Brittany in a gondola (ferris wheel), overlooking the falls.

Brittany really wanted to give Christine the mountain wedding she always wanted:; free of stress and crowds, with just the two of them (almost) and nature. Ultimately, they were guided to the venue because of the stunning, peaceful views that surrounded the two as they each married their best friend.

Brittany and Christine started their April 1st elopement day off with a First Look on the balcony with breathtakingly views of the water below.

Brittany was escorted by her mom and step-dad into their sweet ceremony which was officiated by Michael.

Afterwards, the couple enjoyed their cake cutting indoors (they chose raspberry almond cake, yum) and did some “cheers-ing” with their champagne glasses.  Cute side note: “Cheers-ing” is a common term used amongst Brittany’s mother and step-father and subsequently done by the pair even on a daily basis.

The pair soaked in the beauty of the home, wandering around the woods and dancing dockside!

A cool touch that the couple included was decorating a paddle boat down by the lake.

Watch their elopement film below to see their day unfold!

Private Chefs

When getting a cabin or AirBnB, one of the great options is to hire a private chef to cook dinner for you and your guests afterwards.

Many of our couples have hired Chef Katie Fiore to cook healthy, delicious meals with Fioreously Delicious

One of our couples, Bri and Matt hired Food, Fire, and Knives to cook their post-ceremony meal.

Check out the beautifully prepared dishes he made them, below!

Here’s what Bri and Matt had to say about their experience with Food, Fire, and Knives:

“Chef Graham was phenomenal and has cooked for many elopements before. We really can’t recommend him enough!’
