Asheville Elopement Photography at Olivette | Caitlin and Thomas

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Caitlin and Thomas for their elopement wedding! Originally from the Richmond, Virginia area, this couple fell in love with Olivette, an adorable space on the French Broad River. As soon as they set foot on the property, they felt a connection to this quiet land and community.  They knew it was a beautiful destination for their celebration of marriage. As you can see, they were right! Luckily for us, they offer a weekday special for elopements. We were able to capture some truly stunning Asheville elopement photography at Olivette.

Celebrating Caitlin and Thomas’ Love

It’s not always an easy decision for a couple to choose elopement over a traditional wedding. Caitlin and Thomas knew they wanted to celebrate their relationship in a simplistic and minimalistic fashion. They both have a deep love for the outdoors and felt a package through Elope Outdoors was a perfect fit for them.  They chose a simple package with classic photography, and the services of our officiant, Nick.

We found a scenic spot near a river bank, and I knew we had to stop and capture some portraits. It was lined with gorgeously tall trees which allowed the golden light to filter through…casting super dreamy rays on their elopement session.  I spent a few moments photographing both Caitlin and Thomas individually, then captured their first look before the ceremony began. You can feel Caitlin’s excitement as she approaches Thomas. So sweet! Nick was wonderful and helped the couple personalize their ceremony. I can truly tell it was so meaningful to them. I especially love the couples’ portraits along the waterfront and on the rustic bridge.  Such a classically elegant day!

Elope Outdoors

I am so proud of Elope Outdoors. It’s a passion project I run alongside of my photography business.  Capturing these elopement sessions allow me to do more of what I love most, which is documenting the intimacy and connection of couples at their time of marriage. It brings me such happiness to know they will forever have a collection of memories of their special day that will last a lifetime.
